Voices from the Pond was created as a project for Digital Communities, a class offered at Brown University’s Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage.

The oral histories were collected by students at the Center in the “Oral History and Community Memory” class over the course of three years. Many of the clips were created for projects the students worked on, including Rhode Tour and the Shadows and Sounds exhibit series.

The site was developed by Amelia T. Grabowski, Sazzy Gourley, and Sean Simonson.

The photographs were taken by Kate Diedrick, Liz Crawford, and Jessica Palinski.
